While I Was Out...

My fetus became a toddler. Here are the pictures to prove it:

His birth was one of the greatest days of my life. Don't get me wrong, it sucked to try and squeeze that kid out, but SOOO worth it. In fact, I didn't even get to squeeze him out, after hours of pushing I had a c-section anyways! (They're really not that bad by the way). In the days following everything was bliss, except for when Buddah dropped Kyan in the hospital at 2am. It happens...I think I really became a mom a month later though, when our downstairs plumbing backed up sewage into our house and I caught the Swine Flu. Now THAT was a trial, feeling like I'm on my death bed and having to take care of a newborn with the stench of crap all around; but being a mom is about sacrifice, and everything worked out. I didn't die :) I so enjoyed my time off work to stay home with the baby, I cried when I had to go back. But Buddah and my mom have taken excellent care of him, and he does just fine without me for 6 hours of the day. I can't wait for the day I can stay at home with him full time though. It has been bittersweet watching him grow, I love watching him get bigger and learn new things, but a part of me wishes he would stay this way forever. I can't even picture him a teenager that's too cool for mom and dad! When I was little I loved on the old Parent Trap movie (with Hayley Mills) when she smells her grandpa and he asks her what she's doing, she says "I'm making a memory". It's such a silly thought, but I always tell myself that and hope that I can keep the little things he says and does with me forever in my mind, even when he's a pimply snotty teenager he'll always be my baby :) Now, he says a ton of words, every night we read the SAME book twice, it's so crazy to me how he gets so excited over it every night! It's "The Digging-est Dog", which was my favorite book when I was little too.

In his spare time, he enjoys Sesame Street, Baby Genius, dogs, balls, baths, and rolls. Ok that's my catch-up blog for the past year and a half, the end.
